Bhang

Does bhang comes in NDPS provision
Which act is liable for bhang

Quick Summary
Bhang's legal status in India is complex and varies by region. While legal in many parts of the country and often sold during festivals like Holi, its regulation is tied to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Understanding the specific provisions and schedules of this act is crucial for determining legality, especially regarding possession and sale in different Indian states.

It is legal in many parts of India and mainly sold during Holi, when pakoras containing bhang are also sometimes eaten. Uttar Pradesh has licensed bhang shops, and in many places in India one can buy bhang products and drink bhang lassis.

Answer lies in the provisions as well the schedule to NDPS Act.
