Amendment in Trademark application

Dear Experts,
Please advice on matter-
I have applied for trademark (shape of good) and it has been accepted and published in trademark journal but now I want to change from shape of good to wordmark.
Now before registration of trademark can I amend the application.

Thanks.

Quick Summary
A user inquired about amending a trademark application from a 'shape of good' to a 'wordmark' after it had been accepted and published in the trademark journal. The advice given was that such amendments are not permissible at this stage. The recommended course of action is to abandon the current application and file a fresh one for the wordmark, although this will involve repeating the entire examination and publication process.

No you can't. Better to abandon the application and file a fresh one in wordmark.

Once trademark has been accepted/ published no amendment is permissible.

Dear Pradipta Sir,
If I file new application with same name(wordmark), will I get objection because application in same name already exists.

Yes. Examination report, reply to examination report then advertisement, then opposition etc etc will again  be all repeated.

Moreover opposition depends upon the persons who have interest in your trademark. They may or may not give opposition!
