Law Point   21 April 2021

it is not legal to beat people but police have powers to maintain law and order situation in any jurisdiction. the current pandemic situations warrant the law and order mechanism to take all necessary actions to curb down the pandemic situation.

But even if you are aggrieve, you may approach
1. superintendent of police of that district or commissioner of police of that city
2. you may register FIR for hurt caused if any
3. you may approach the Magistrates court with the private complaint
4. you may approach the high court of the jurisdiction with plea to invoke your fundamental rights
5. you may approach the national Human rights commission.

hope it helps

i do stand with expert's point ,if any one breach the law then the police have power to fine them only

Put yourself in the shoes of cops who are to enforce curfew order, what is your reaction ?

If the facts are true, this is a case of abuse of power. There could be no lawlessness under the guise of enforcing law and order.
