6 FBI officers to be examined in 26/11 terror attack case

Six officers of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States, who had assisted local police in the 26/11 terror attack investigation and in investigating the names of the perpetrators and their handlers, will be examined before designated court Judge M L Tahilyani.

Special Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam moved an application in the court seeking to issue summons to the FBI officers to remain present in the court for recording their evidence.

Judge Tahiliani will take a decision on the application tomorrow.

Mr Nikam stated in the application that these officers had visited the city after the carnage of November 26 last year. They had visited the terror sites here and had investigated the matter.

They had unearthed the names of the mastermind in their investigation.

Meanwhile, the proceedings in the case have re-started with the deposition of a panch witness in the court today. The proceedings had been interrupted after a dramatic turn around by lone arrested Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab, who pleaded guilty.
