Dear experts
I have to seek an information through RTI ACT 2005 about a vehicle used in a crime, which registration number is noted as up11- 3517 when this number was noted it was dark so the series bewteen up11 and 3517 could not be noted.. the investigation oficer has stated in case diary that this number is of an auto rikshaw, but we are 100% sure that this number is of a black mahindra scorpio car,now i have to seek that who owns the said car ,but what should be asked in rti application because the series(i.e. A,B,C etc.) of registration number is unkown...
Thank you..

It has no specific format. You can search for it anyway online.

You have to ask for:
1. Please indicate whether there is any motor vehicle registered under Registration No. which begins with up11 and ends with 3517?
2. If so, please indicate the type of vehicle.
3. Please indicate the name and address of the owner of the said vehicle.

There is no specific form for seeking information under RTI Act, but the application should contain the name and address of the applicant, the information sought for, it is to be addressed to the Public Information Officer,.......(Organisation). You should also pay fee of Rs.10/- either by Postal Order or Demand Draft (As demand draft is costly - you have pay the commission of more than Rs.10/- to the Bank better to obtain a Postal Order). What information is to be sought is already advised by the experts.
