How can we know the status of the FIR lodged, i.e. if the charge sheet has been filed by the police or not etc ?

You can go to the concerned criminal court and verify the court records to know if charge sheet has been filed. If there is inordinate and unexplained delay on the part of the police you can file a petition for direction to the police under Se.482 CrPC before the High court for necessary relief.

Court will issue summons if police file a charge sheet or court will issue a notice to the complainant if police submitted a finale report. Sometimes the whole process take s a long time depending on the investigation of the case. But if there is an unreasonable delay u may proceed the H C as advice above.

Dear Minakshiji,
Four days back you queried aabout the same case and adequate reply was given by the experts.

Last time you said that the FIR has not been lodged and both the parties wanted to go for a settlement outside court. Amicable suggestions were provided then.

you can go before the court and file an inspection application through a lawyer and check what is the matter and status of the case.
