Perjury under 340 crpc

What are the facts? What do you mean by 'exception to the general rule'? what exception? Which general rule?

Whether you are affected litigant or counsel, i.e., what is your locus to the query ?
How does "General Rule" apply where specific provision (Section 340 Cr PC) is applicable for committing perjury? Not very clear.
Consult a local senior/ prudent lawyer, if there is some truth in the story, which is, prima facie, an academic question.
