Address proof

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have purchased a new apartment in Bangalore and have no address proof except my property registration paper like the Sale Deed. Electricity connection is still in the process of getting transferred and Aadhar is also on the old address. Hence wanted to check if I can provide my Sale Deed as address proof of residence to my bank SBI so that the passbook copy can be used to change other documents.

Not a legal problem.
Is not it strange that instead of asking from the concerned bank, who has to accept your address proof, you are asking totally unrelated persons.

Sir, Agreed that I should ask the Bank. But I have personally experienced that different branches of same bank accept different documents, i.e a document accepted by 1 branch of the same bank is rejected by the other. Hence wanted to know what is right?. Further I have experienced that one of the SBI branch in the Bangalore refused to accept a particular document that is recommended by RBI for address proof. Thank you for your response.

Very vague plea! It seems, you have only some academic query, not any real problem.

By the way, even if that be a real problem, if someone here tells that you can produce the sale deed as address proof and your bank refuses to accept that, what will you?

You have to satisfy your bank by submission of the document advised you to submit, not anyone else.

Yes you can give true copy of the registered sale deed as proof of address for all legal purposes such as change of address in Aadahar, to get electricity connection, and even change of address in bank account. Now the question arises will the SBI accept that as proof of address or not that you need to check with SBI branch.
