Rejoining earlier organization

(Querist) 14 September 2017 This query is : Resolved
My friend was working in state govt job and left with resigning to join central govt(as his reporting officer could not give him lien). Now he wants to join back previous organization after one year?He is highly meritorious but was confused taking his decision as his higher ups had no idea of lien and those who had said lien cannot be given from state psu to central govt. Kindly help if he can rejoin previous organization and get his nps transferred? He has received no letter from the previous organization till date.

The previous employer may consider your rejoining subject to limitations ie. foregoing previous service, and other perquisites.

Sorry
He did not resign as he was not given lien and joined new job.
Can he rejoin his earlier job after resigning present one?

If he didn't resign his previous central govt job or technically resign and not applied through proper channel for the new job then he will loose his Right to lien to the previous post which s 2 years from the date of his technical resignation of his previous job.

Fatal mistakes, if committed, cannot mostly be rectified any time later.

Mr. Jigyasu has rightly observed. No authority in Government or PSU organization likes to take risk of being implicated in the charge of favoritism by allowing a resigned employee to rejoin. So, your friend should better try for some other job instead of wasting his time in the hope of rejoining the same organization.
