You cannot claim excuse for your own fault You have admitted that you have authorised your peon to take the second keys of the chest from your bag and had been aware that the activity is going on in a routine manner. So far ther was no problem, you never bothered about this arrangement but when the things are out of your hand and you are also held liable for the offence you are shaken and started giving some fictitious reasons which even a child cannot believe. When you found that your keys are not there in the bag what prevented you from making any complaint agaisnt your peon or to make a search for the same? You were supposed to keep the keys in your possession and under the lock and key of your table drawer Thus claiming that the keys were in the bag elsewhere and you were sitting elsewhere is nothing but narrating folk stories to the investigating officer. Look for a better advise through a local advocate on getting his/her advise on the subject properly to handle and face the situation accordingly.
