Entitement of wife over husband's income and property

Is there any law that wife is entitled to get half of husband's salary?
Is she legally entitle to her husband's property.
Wife is well educated but was not working. Now working as teacher for last one year. Earning Rs 42000 per month.
Never contributed money for household expenses or prooerty.

Wife is entitled for maintenance only and has no right in husbands properties. There was plan by UPA Government in its last days to bring legislation giving right to wife in husbands property on marriage.

While the wife does not have rights over her husband's property, she definitely has no obligation to contribute for the house hold expenses, even if she is earning. It is the duty of the husband to maintain his wife (and children) by providing her food, clothing shelter and other necessities of life befitting the husband's life style. This position is both socially and legally recognised. Hence dont feel aggrieved that your wife is not contributing to house hold expenses. .
