I am staying in a rented house in bangalore which is 2 floor building i am staying in 2nd floor and 1st floor is also given letout (since 3 months they are staying) both the floors owners are different but relatives only . the family who are staying in 1st floor are creating nuisence and now they instaled cctv to cover the staircase and enterance to watch our moments i have doubt they can misuse the videos. So my question is can i raise to objection to installing that cctv

If your movements is staircase are not illegal or erratic, how you expect your neighbour to misuse the videos? Rather that can be helpful in detecting if anti social or criminal element tries to make entry through the staircase even to access your own residence. CCTV camera to keep watch over the staircase entrants does not infringe your privacy unless that is intended to peep in to any inner part of your own residence.

Better try to take the event in positive sense for the sake of security of the residents of the building.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Dhingra sir i would be very happy if they have installed cctv for the sake of restricting antisocial and criminal incidents but I have doubt on them they installed cctv to watch us so i suspect. last 20 days back they attacked on me in the matter of parking two wheeler and we went policy station to lodged th(in short)e complaint where they apologized for the incident and after that they did this so i am doubting them. I heard that as information technology lwa i can complaint / restrict them to putting CCTV so asked open querry to get knowldge about that

No such illegal work/dispute existed as observed from the circumstances of the query.

Watching your movement, like others, in the staircase through a CCTV camera is not illegal. Parking problem outside the premises cannot be the ground for challenging or asking to remove the CCTV camera to keep watch over the staircase. However, if you are parking your two wheeler before the staircase, that can be objectionable to any body.
