FIR :

(Querist) 10 March 2017 This query is : Resolved
After filing of Fir against the builder, there isno action from the Police. I have called up the psi handling my case who keeps giving excuses or doesn't attend to calls. Approached my lawyer who says "my work is over. It is the police who have to do the investigation". Is it right or should I approach another lawyer ? Each time my lawyer gives a different solution and then backs out. I m a Sr.citizen n also having health problems.

Hi Helen Victor Dsouza,

Just imagine, without any background of the case, without date of filing FIR, and without stating the so called different/ contradicting solutions of your lawyer, how anyone can guess and say, whether your lawyer has rightly advised you or you have the need to change your lawyer.

So, please discuss the real problem as well as the advice in brief of your own lawyer and where you feel that he has given some different & contradictory solutions.

Being a senior citizen you should meet the senior police officials and request to order for an early action.

1. You may seek opinion/advise of another local lawyer and may change your lawyer if you have lost faith in him/her.

2. After lodging FIR you may approach/ complain senior police officers for in-action on the part of investigating office (PSI).

3. You may file an application before area Magistrate for "status report" of the case, where IO will have to give his report.
