Citation on validity of interim stay needed

I need LCI's members kind assistance and clarification in the following matter.

Madras High Court passed an order in Writ Petition filed by my client as follows :

These petitions coming on for orders upon perusing the petitions and the respective affidavits filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Counsel for the petitioner in both the petitions, the Hon'ble Court made the following order

"Notice regarding admission returnable in four weeks. Interim stay till then"

This Writ Petition and Stay Petition are pending since October, 2007. Petition to fix date for disposal is also pending.

Based on this situation, I need LCI's Members assistance and clarification on the following grounds :

1. Whether the Interim Stay will continue till date though the extension of stay is not granted specifically nor dismissed so far.

2. If stay continues, the relevant authority of Section of Law or Citation may be informed to me. Citation from Supreme Court of India is desirable.

1. If on extension of interim order is sought by filing petition of extent ion of stay, the order is vacated long ago.
2. this part is not clear to me.

To suggest and provide the citation, exact details of the case are required.
Even you can find out the relevant citations easily as you know the facts of the case and current stage.

I required the Citation preferably from Supreme Court of India on the following grounds :

Extension of Interim Stay Order will continue or not, if petition for extension of interim stay order is not filed by mistake.
