Title deed search

(Querist) 07 October 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hello everyone,

I am stuck in a situation & would like to get your kind help(s).

Their is a property which my grandfather has sold in 1970's (not sure about the exact year), of which I don't have the papers (LD/SD etc.), but somehow have managed to get its location & number.
Due to some personal reasons, I want to re-purchase that property but prior to that I want to get the confirmation whether it is the same property which I was looking for.
To check at the SR office, I would be needing atleast the last Sale Deed of that property but I am not aware of the date of its execution.
Is their anyother way by which I can get the confirmation.

Would be grateful in getting the suggestions from you all.

Thanks

Dear Mr.Alok,

Search in the SR Office and applying for Encumbrance Certificate is the best option. However, you can also approach the local revenue authority, wherein the mutation of records will be effected based on the registered deeds if any.

Only registrar office can help you.

Consult local lawyer / revenue staff, he would be able to help and solve the problem.

If you know the location and number, some senior person from your family can identify the property. Even the identity of the property is confirmed, what is the guarantee that the presnt occupant(s) would be willing to sell the same?

Apply for the Encumbrance Search (EC)and get from the revenue authorities, then the required information may be known.
