If the property is registered only in the name of your brother, then you will have no right in the said property.

If it is joint family and joint income then buy in joint names.
As per matter in your post you have no charge or claim on the property.
Forget it.

Source of funds is important factor. If your brother has individual income and the purchase is out of those funds, though you people live in joint family, you will not have any claim on such property which is registered in your brother's name.

Experts have advised well that a property purchased on an individual's name shall remain that individual's property alone and a third person cannot lay claim in it.
