Notice issued by a customer

GOOD MORNING

I AM RUNNING A FURNITURE BUSINESS . A CUSTOMER HAS BEEN PURCHASED A WOODEN PRODUCT IN FEBRUARY 2014 AND MET ME IN NOVEMBER THAT THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN DAMAGED . I SAID I WILL REPAIR THE PRODUCT BUT HE SAID HE WANT A NEW PRODUCT FOR WHICH I SAID IT IS NOT POSSIBLE . LAST WEEK HE HAS SEND ME A NOTICE FROM THE ADVOCATE SAYING TO GIVE HIM A NEW PRODUCT OR HE WILL APPROACH A CONSUMER FORUM. SO KINDLY HELP ME IN THIS REGARDS

you should contact a local lawyer and reply to legal notice . you are not bound to replace wooden product after 6 months . if there is damage to product you can carry out repairs at minimal costs

there must be clause in your invoice . goods once sold will not be taken back . generally there is clause that in case of any complaints of quality of the product the same should be made within period of 48 hours from date of receipt of the goods and would be replaced by the manufacturer

DEAR SIR ,
IS IT MANDATORY TO APPOINT A LAWYER FOR FURTHER PROCESS OR CAN I REPLY TO THIS NOTICE ON MY LETTER HEAD .

I AM NOT SURE THAT THE CUSTOMER HAS THE BILL SO I HAVE WRITTEN THE MATTER AS FOLLOWS.

I want to inform you that your client Mr. XXX . has been sent the notice to me without any prior evidence that he has purchased the product from my shop.

To verify that your client has been purchased from me, kindly submit the invoice which ever has been issued to him if he has purchased the product .

Now, to avoid any legal proceedings in relation to this matter, kindly submit the related document for the evidence for further verification.

I will wait for your response for further process .

PLEASE KINDLY SUGGEST ME IN THIS MATTER . THANKING YOU ...
