Dear Expert
a lady claim marriage as Hindu but the witnesses said the lady come without religious rite or custom. whether it is punishable as per law?

This type of marriage may not be valid in eyes of law but the Honble Supreme Court has considered such a marriages valid one, considering these as Live in relationship as husband and wife.
in a case of 498A to punish some body, he should be husband or relative of husband but validity of marriage is not checked very strictly so punishment is possible if offense is proved.
