Succession

Kindly inform me what was the position of female prior to 1956. whether there is any difference in succession in between the 1st wife children and 2nd wife children. Kindly quote the citation, if available. P.V.PRASAD, Advocate, Madanapalle

No, there was no difference on all legtimate children prior to 1956.

Yes!prior to enforcement of Hindu Marriage Act,under Old Hindu law a hindu had no limitation on marrying a lady on count of numbers.He could then marry any many.Then all
those marriages would be deemed to be valid in law,hence also children born from those marriages.
