Find out from your HR. We do not know as to what are the terms and conditions of your appointment with IDBI.

Tender the resignation letter and offer to give one month;s salary for not serving the notice period. It should suffice.

Prepare resignation notice by stating the date on which you want to be relieved and make a mention that you are ready to pay the amount due in lieu of the period short of the notice period. Submit the same under receipt or by courier/speed post either to the Receipt & Despatch Cell of HQ where the Bank's HR department is situated so that you may have the evidence of submission of your resignation notice. You may also send the notice through email to the HR department of your organization.

However, it would be better if you give a copy to your immediate superior also for information and necessary action.

Read the terms and conditions under your Appointment Order in IDBI. In fact, for genuine reasons, bank can excempt any conditions. You apprise the position to the head of your office and secure early relief from duties of IDBI. In case your certificates and valuable records are with present employer, you must be very careful. If you had signed any bonds for minimum period of service, you are liable to comply such conditions.

If you can by the notice period as per your appointment terms, you can do that.

You offer one month salary in lieu of notice period. It is sufficient, the employer can not compel you to serve as contract of personal service can not be enforced specifically. The employer can ask only damages., if there exist offer on your side, the compliance is completed from your side.
