i am working as cashier in bank, when i am posted in 2003 in branch party withdrawn rs. 20000 by cheque dt 26-05-2003, and balance go below 500 and deposited money 300/ in paynig slip by clerk and i give him recipt with stamp rs 300/ .after six and half year he complaint i deposit rs20000/.when i see recipt fill by party 20000/ in bank record voucher 300/ in cash book scroll 300/by counter clerk. and make transcation during period and complete pass book . but no objection same time in 2003. pls tell me he make complaint the bank . if he make then bank take this matter regarding enquiry. thanks

Though it is a time-barred claim by the depositor, the counterfoil said to contain Rs.20000/- will be subject to forensic analysis to find out as to whether any material alteration is there. However, the receipted counterfoil should contain your full signatures confirming receipt in words and figures as Three hundred only as per RBI guidelines to establish your innocence. You should bring this matter to the knowledge of your Union people to prepare defense in case, bank seeks explanation from you based on complaint from the customer if any.

helo, the query is confusing. You have stated that the party withdrew Rs.20000/-by cheque. and since the minimum balance went below Rs.500/- it deposited Rs.300/- for which you gave pay in slip signature.
It is not clear as to why the party want you to deposit Rs.20,000/- .
In such query please use clarity. Experts have no time to corret your english.

as advised by Mr Parthasaradhi , the claim of Depositor can be disproved with Records of the Bank /Daily scrolls and cash entries and verification of Tampering of Counter folio .

You have to prove your innocence. It is unbelievable that the receipt shows Rs.20000/-, but you say that you have actually received rs.300. In case of dispute the receipt signed by you will stand.
