Criminal liabality or civil liabality

one person pursuaded me to invest through him in maxforexonlinebiz and assured heavy returns to me directly and in cash from him.I handed over Rs.Two lac to him and he opened my account on net in the above said company.He didnot provide me my password to open and operate the account with the reasoning that amount will be withdrawn by his high ups and will be paid in cash.He paid some amount in the second month. Now he is saying that site of the company has been closed and no amount is being received by him from high ups.There are so many persons like me who invested their hard earned money in the above said company.Now I want to ask whether it is a case of cheating and F.I.R. should be lodged ?and if so, against whom? or it is a case of civil Liabality?and if so, who are liable.

Yes , against the director of the company and the said staff as well.
It is both criminal offence and civil wrong.

These type of cases are happening in all imp cities of the country. Sharp people lure by promise of heavy interest of profits and once enough is collected shut the shop.

You may file criminal civil action , get them arrested and what not but it is not possible to get back your money.

PEOPLE READ SUCH STORIES IN NEWSPAPERS AND TV BUT STILL GET CHEATED , WHAT CAN BE DONE.

In india No company is allowed to trade Forex. Some companies are doing this in a tricky way, but illegally. You can give a police complaint on the company. Normally the promoters of these forex companies are foreigners and wealthy people. The police can recover money from them.
