Name of father misspelt in my sons birth certificate

I am residing in Chennai -Tamilnadu.
My child was born in Thiruvananthapuram on 19/01/2001.
There is a typo error in the name of the Father -- should be Venk"a"tesh instead of venk"i"tesh.
My Son's school wants this to be rectified to correct in there records as he is taking up public examinations.
Can I get some experts help from Thiruvanandhapuram to get this corrected. I do not have any known contacts there.

Apply to the Municipality to correct the error in the Birth Certificate.

Apply to Municipality, send the application by registered AD post for rectification of record and issue certificate after correction. First get the procedure and required documents need to be submitted for rectification, if they do not reply use RTI.

You would be able to get fast result if you visit personally.
