Hello Sir, i have query regarding ESI/PF. one of my client who is running vegetable business all over india wanted to give some benefits to his farmers who work for his business.Can he register under ESI/PF ?. may i know whether registration can be done online ?. Can am accountant do this registration or do we require some professionals to do this ?please help sir .

Are those farmers just suppliers or they are working for your client specifically?

They r working under my client sir .
Actually my client purchase those vegetable from farmers who has agricultural.land on contract basis .He also provide all facilites to farmers to maintain those vegetable like fertiliser and other technology related help.

In absence of employer and employee relation ESI / PF benefits can not be provided.

it is strange that one wants to give such benefits to farmers (without being his employees) in a fraudulent manner. The farmers are otherwise papered who have strongest political voice and strongest vote bank of a single profession.

they themselves are not liable to adheree to any labour law for their workers.

In this case, your client is not an employer and the farmers are not under the definition of employee.
