Dear Expert,
My nephew is 23 years, unmarried, pursuing CA after his graduation. A lady, aged about 45 who stays in the adjacent building is sexually harassing my nephew for sometime. She would call him from PCOs and tell him that she loves him and wants to sleep with him. Her husband stays outstation on account of transferable job. This lady is a mother of a girl, who is studying in university. A year ago, a courier in my nephews name, by mistake of the delivery man landed in her hand, which was sent to my Sister ( my nephew's mother ) through her domestic help. Most likely, that time she got my nephew's cell number. On the contrary, she is spreading rumour in the locality ( through maid servants, milkman, LPG delivery man) that my nephew is desperate to have sex with her.
Is their any law, by which such women could be restricted to harass young men?
Regards,
Sabir

What a silly question you have raised ? How can a woman sexually harass an adult of 23 years unless he is more interested to have a relation with her ? Both being adults, no law to prevents their consensus sex. If you are serious, why not talk to the husband of the woman to shift her to his place of stay.

Dear A.A.Jose,
How silly it is to say that my nephew is more interested in that elderly lady? My nephew is almost half the age of this lady. She has an adult daughter, who is more or less my nephew's age.Even, discussing the things with her husband is below the dignity of my nephew and his family. I wanted suggestion, how this mentally ill lady could be fixed up for good. It seems you are biased in this regard. My nephew never wanted to tell us in the first place. Even, he felt embarrassed to tell his mother ( my sister ).When the harassment continued, he told me ultimately. How would you like if someone calls you all the time with indecentt proposals?. I am very sure a young, qualified man like my nephew will be welcomed highly by unmarried young females. Why on earth, he will be interested in an elderly lady, who is almost double his age?
I suppose, there there is no such legal remedy, as I could understand from your reply. It would be commendable for my nephew to change his cell number and to avoid this wherever and whenever she is.
Regards,
Sabir

Your nephew should ignore her totally and should not respond in any way. He should bring the situation in the knowledge of his mother.

To avoid harassment UR nephew can give a complaint against her ,in case he has evidence to prove.n
The above subject matter is from UR side,it could be a different version from her.
There cannot be smoke without fire.
Hence better solve the matter amicably taking into account the future of UR nephew.
Any wrong step could lead him to troubles as most of the laws are woman oriented.

Dear Mr.Ahmed,
Do not carry the wrongimpression that those giving opinion in this Forum are biased if their view is not suited to the one expected by the querist. From the reply now given by you, I am personally of the view that there is surely something fishy . When your nephew is a 23 years old educated adult, one fails to understand as to why he should respond to the women if & when she rings him up. Further, when he has already made known this incident to you as well as his own mother, why did both of you not cared to sound the husband of the woman in question or atleast to the woman? Obviously, you have no problem in sharing the incident in this forum but you are unable to take the issue with the woman or her husband ! If that is the case, how will you be able to lodge a police complaint ? I have serious doubt about the veracity of your own narrations. However, I reiterate that when two consenting adults maintain sexual relations, there is no question of legal remedy. If at all there is any legal remedy,it may be available for the husband of the woman concerned against your nephew.
You have only stated ONE-SIDE of the story and please note that the Woman may have her own version to disclose which may even be more shocking to you also ! Therefore, rather than finding fault with the views expressed by the experts here, it would be wise for you to persuade yor own nephew to delink all kinds of relations with the woman concerned.

The matter, as stated, appears very sensitive and required careful handling. Perhaps, it would be a good idea if removes himself from the locality and also have another cell number.
