my daughter is married in 2012. at the time of marriage they make it clear that there will be no dowry at all but they asked the special care of baraties with chicken,mutton fish wishky etc and we happily done that. after marriage when my daughter entered in here laws house she was surprised to note that no any after marriage ceremonies were performed by her inlaws. she did not mind it another surprising was they did not offered any cloths to put on and she used her own cloths which were given to her by us. but did not mind it at all. at the time of ring ceramony it was deceded by both the families that girl will countinue her job (she is working class-I officer in Govt. Job)
after the marriage physically and mentally tourture of my daughter was started by her husband and supported by his parents. they never came to meet her wife where she is working every time my daughter went to her husband. my daughter husband frequently asked her money and my daughter transferred the amount on line every time he asked to re-charge his mobile and my daughter asked her husband to come to meet her and she was surprised to hear that he will not come to her and this was also supported by her parents also.in the last oct.2014 shen my daughter went tomeet her husband he clearly says that he will going to leave her and asked her to leave my house. my daughter came to us in very dipressed manner and now she told us that while on the way she was thinking about succide. we take the case with the parrents of my son-inlaw and meeting at their residence and they assured us for reasonable solution. but in the august this year they clearly repeat the wording of their son that they will not keep my daughter. please advise me to wqhat to do. should we go for 498A

Yes, you can file 498A and Domestic Violence Case simultaneously.

What is UR so called son in law doing for a living?begging his wife for everything?
Don't waste time file the above cases if they don't come to terms.First try for a mediation involving other elders of both the sides.

Try for amicable settlement with the help of relatives, common friends, society effective people.
If not possible / no amicable settlement reached, file case under dowry harassment and domestic violence.

such like people agree for amicable solution only after visiting CAW and listening sermons of cops (in the language they are used to).

The problem with dowry victims is that they do not even know that dowry is being demanded from them.
Some in-laws do not demand dowry at the time of marriage because they are wise enough and do not want to distract arrival of a milch cow in the family [a glass-I appointed girl earning just less than a lakh per month] They have faith in their fleecing tactics.
Expecting a wife to behave like ATM for the sake of continuance of marriage is nothing bud dowry demand. It falls with definition of dowry given in DP Act.
Another problem is that they do not like to go to police and bear torture ( I am talking of real victims). They do believe that in India the parents of girl have a duty to be always proved wrong.

This is a curse on the nation that still the people demand dowry and harass the innocent women in the name of marriage and perform all sorts of cruel acts on the innocent women for the greedy need of money in the name of dowry.
You may prefer a complaint with the police for this offence and also can file domestic violence case involving his mother too who might play a major role from behind.

lot for your valued suggestions. I want to inform you that my advocate has filed the case in civil court and my witness is on 14.10.15. Sould i have lodge i complaint in Poilice department at the the same time please suggest.
