Cooperative society - veg/non veg

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 31 January 2012 This query is : Resolved
I purchased a flat and all share transfer is complete in existing coop. society. The society had given NOC to seller fvg my name without any conditions. I am Non-veg..Seller was non veg.
Now society objecting to my cooking non veg in my house (due to smell of fish etc). They say they are veg society.
Please advise my legal standing to continue non veg cooking at home.

There is no legal solution to your problem. May be your seller not cooking his non-veg food in his house. You shall have to follow rules of soceity.

Objection is not based on caste, or religion so valid.
It is based on nuisance, fish smell,
Society AGM decision is binding on you.
You can reside, and cook and eat also, Smell and wastage with dirty smell should not go out, or irritate those who are objecting it.

since the society has given NOC society cannot object to you cooking non veg . had the society in the begining informed you that it prefers only vegetarnians you would not have bought flat in said society .

you can continue to cook no veg in the house .

:-) Legally advise of Ld. Sethi is right, however it is requested that the harmony be maintained.
