Jurisdiction of appeal

If a person plaintiff won a case in the subordinate court then where the defendant has to preffer an appeal before the district court or in the high court. Kindly advice on this as the defendant filed an appeal directly in the high court and numbered instead of filing the appeal in the district court.suit value is rs.600000.

In view of pecuniary jurisdiction except Bombay the appellant ought to have file appeal before District Judge only

The quiry is I am the plaintiff and filed a suit for specific performance of a contract on an agreement of sale in the subordinate court.for this appellate court is district court.i won the case and the honorable Court directing the defendant to execute the registered sale deed accepting the balance CONSIDERATION.
The defendant had to prefer an appeal before the district court.my point is how the defendant is prefered an appeal before the high court and numbered by the High Court .My question is with out filing the APPEAL by the defendant in the district court how he filed in the High Court and how it is numbered .the value is rs.600000.
Kindly give me an advice suitable for which the act of kindness I shall be ever greatful to you. Thanq very much in advance
