Status change from regular to part time

(Querist) 26 July 2014 This query is : Resolved
i was persuing mtech from ------ university patiala. During same period, i got job in department of water supply and sanitation punjab and i will be joining shorly. Now my first year in mtech is complete and there are only 2 more courses in second year that i have to learn. Since i can not continue regular studies, I requested university to change my status from regular to part time student. The university officials said that there are no ongoing part time batches from this year and the older batches have already studied the 2 courses that i have to study and they refused to change my status from regular to part time. But the thing is that in academic regulations of university, it is clearly mentioned that after completion of first year, status can be changed from regular to part time.I worked hard in first year securing 93 % marks and i don't want to waste my whole degree just bcoz of 2 courses left. Should i file a case against university or i should just forget and move on?

Show the regulations of the University to a local lawyer. if the case has merit you can taken on the University on its face and fight for your right.
You require permission from your department as well for pursuing higher studies.

it is better you complete your studies then take job . if you need the money then request your employer to permit you to complete your studies .

you can also file writ petition against the university if contrary to regulations you are not been permitted to study part time
