Hold a registered lease of land but want to cancel it before tenure with consent to landowner will it attract stamp duty or any penalty as such in Bihar

If you want to get the Cancellation Deed registered it may attract stamp duty and registration charges as applicable in your State i.e., Bihar.
However, no penalty shall be levied by revenue department for registration of Cancellation Deed.

Before tenure of lease period, the stamp duty shall be levied as levied on the Original deed or as per rates amended if any at present whichever is higher and registration fees is normal. Both the lessee and lessor shall attend the registrar office for registration. However consult in Registrar office as stamp duties varies from one State to other State.
