Sir,

The Land Tax, also called Ground Rent,is the tax on the plot of land on which the building is erected, and is collected by the office of the Collector/Tehsildar.

The property tax is the tax on the building and it is collected by the Municipal corporation.

The taxes are borne according to the understanding between the owner and the occupier.

Good Luck,
Kishor Mehta

The land tax is different from property tax. The land tax is the tax levied on the vacant or agriculture lands by the state government revenue department. The property tax are the levies payable to the local administration authorities namely Municipal/corporation/Panchayat authorities.
