Is the concept of govt employee 24 hr. servant against human rights

(Querist) 30 May 2016 This query is : Resolved
in india a govt employee is told repeatedly that he is a 24 hour servant and must be forever ready for duty whenever summoned.

is this concept not promoting slavery and bonded labour that is already banned everywhere in the world?

is it not against democracy which talks about individual's freedom?

is it not against human right to privacy, and personal space?

is it not against constitutional rights?

if these are true, why should only a govt employee be singled out & deprived of his human rights while others are get comparatively more freedom?

isn't the term,"24 hours servant" degrading to an individual and hurtful of his dignity?

Not unconstitutional. Society is jealous of government servants as this is most sought after and best paid job

When you term it as a Govt. employee, it should be simultaneously kept in mind that they will deal with matters relating interest of public at large, so also matters concerning providing of essential services and maintenance of law & order.

These being the area of duty or responsibilities assigned, one has to be prepared to attend to the same as when need arises in a committed manner.

Hence, rising up to the situation as and when required by these class of employees , can not be termed as violation of Human rights.

If the concept of 24 hours service would have been derogatory or slavery then it could have never been possible that Graduate/ B Tech/ Post graduate boys join as peon.

The very meaning of 24 hours has been very badly interpreted by you. It is not slavery. No government servant will be working through 24 hours and a government servant's extra time working is suitably compensated either with over time allowance or by duty off.
First understand the meaning 24 hours service and then shoot out your questions.
You can file a PIL to remove the slavery which has been understood by you as a term denoting 24 hours service by a government servant
