Naveen-I am an employee of a pharmaceutical company based at hyderabad.I was sent on europe tour from the company more than 2 years back.In that trip during a joy bus ride across the locks of scotland ,I was falsely accused by a scottish lady of sexual assault by touching.The next day I was under detention in local police station for 2 hours for giving my statement.I was released from the police station ,as at that time a High court ruling precluded police bailing suspects for more than 92 hours. I left all my details with the police.After my return to India ,I have been normally working and heard nothing from the police for 2 years.I am presently prepared to go to USA for another work assignment .So a friend of mine advised me to check about this previous incident.I was shocked to know from the police station that they have a charge of sexual assault against me and they have issued an international arrest warrant against me.Kindly advise what does that mean to me.1.Can it hamper my life in India? 2.How can I find out ,as there is no mention of my name among the red corner notices in the Interpol website.3.what can I do to work this mess out?4.Should I fly to USA which is in a weeks time??Please help ........

1. Yes , if the warrant reached the police and the police acts on it. However since it involves extradition of yours, the police may not act much on the warrant.

2 &3. If your name is not there then why are you so worried? To check its details you have to employ someone in UK.

3. It seems unwise. If the international airports are aware of your red corner notice which is likely at least in abroad then you would be taken into arrest.

Will it affect my life in India if I henceforth avoid any international travel?And also it is a bit difficult for me to believe,as I knew that red corner notices are issued for serious crimes like terrorism,murder,smuggling,rape etc.

since it involves extradition the chances are slim.
Try to find out actual status of the case and the red corner notice for better defence.

Can someone kindly suggest me how I can confirmly find out whether there is a red corner warrant against my name.
