Demotion

(Querist) 23 November 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear All,
I have worked in MNC as "Officer" for 2 yrs.
Recently I resigned from the company.
In the service certificate which I received from the company after a month of the resignation mentions my designation as "Assistant"
I was not at all informed about this designation change while I was working there.
My offer cum appointment letter and joining certificate are clearly state that my designation as "Officer".
When I approached I didn't get any proper response from them.
Kindly guide me on this, how can I legally proceed/approach to this?
Please help.
Regards

since your offer cum appointment letter mentions that you have been appointed as officer in the company service certificate should mention that you have worked as officer .it is better you resolve issue amicably with management . you can issue legal notice is they refuse to rectify service certificate

Take up the matter with the company for rectification of the error. Amicable settlement of the issue is appreciable.

Thanks alot for your guidelines sirs. There is no proper response from them even after several requests.
I waited long but they again sent me the same certificate without correcting the designation.
They told me that they have made internal rearrangements of the designations so that was reflecting in the service certificate.
But how could they change my designation which I was working for these many years after I resign and without my knowledge?
Sir, what adverse I may face if I go for legal notice and will that help me?

You should communicate in writing the grievances to the company citing the error by evidencing a copy of the offer letter as documentary proof and seek their rectification, obtain their reply in writing, the reply if not satisfying, you may issue a legal notice seeking relief which will convert into legal action in case the notice fails to invoke any response.
