Fake SC Certificates

Issuance and verification of caste certificates is the responsibility of concerned State Governments and Union Territory Administrations.

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes(NCSC) has, however, intimated that information of 106 cases regarding fake caste certificates has been received from their State Offices. State wise details are as under:-

The NCSC has informed that in these cases either the concerned State Government/their Scrutiny Committee is conducting enquiries or the cases are pending in courts.

In regard to appointments in Central Government against the reserved vacancies extant instructions of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training provide that the appointment would be provisional and subject to verification of caste certificate. In case the claim to belong to Scheduled Caste is found false on verification, the service will be terminated and without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under provisions of the Indian Penal Code for production of false certificate.

In case of flake caste certificate state govt.has not taken serious action against the caste certificate issuing authrity since last 64years.criminal case must be registered against them immidiately.

i think it is not reflecting the correct position in a country where the beneficiery's numbers run in millions.the very purpose of reservation has long back served the purpose and furtherence is counter productive.while crorepathis hailing from the so called (once upon me)oppressed class are garnering all sorts of social benefits like education and postings at all higher levels and the people hailing from the so called forward commnity are forced to take employment outside the country lving thir own motherland.

fake SC/ST certificates are rampant in Karnataka I have a case where in the fater is a OBC and gets a ST certificate for his Promotion and also his wife for obtaining a job in the nationalised bank. Does the School records bear any probative value to say that he belongs to that caste is a question? Just by making laws cannot curtail the misuse of SC/ST fake certificate but it is the henderence to the very benificiaries.They are still in the same state n and can never utilise the reservation availed to them.Hence School records of the parents, based on which the candidates caste should be decided.
