Designated court judge M L Tahilyani adjourned the proceedings of the 26/11 attacks trial till tomorrow even as the only surviving terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab said the attacks were carried out to warn the Indian government against continuation of atrocities on minorities.

Kasab, who yesterday confessed his role in the dastardly attack on Mumbai that left over 180 dead and wanted the sentence to be pronounced against him stopping the trial, today said the planned attack was to send a message against attack on the minorities.

"If atrocities on minorities did not stop such attacks would continue," was the message given to him, he said.

Kasab came out with this startling disclosure after the designated Judge asked him if he had anything to state further to his confession yesterday, in which he gave details of his role in the 60-hour terrorist strike on the city.

He said his role was to go on a shooting spree at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and take into hostage as many people as possible.

Public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam sought an adjournment of the trials stating that he received the lengthy confession statement only today and wanted some time to go through it.

Acceding to his request, the Judge adjourned the trial till tomorrow morning for argument.
