The Supreme Court has slammed governments for misusing provisions of Land Acqusition Act to divest farmers of their prime agricultural land and giving it to builders. Questioning the building of hotels, malls and commercial complexes on land acquired for "public purpose", a Bench of Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly yesterday refused to stay the Allahabad High Court order quashing the notifications for land acquisition in the area adjoining the national capital.

The Bench observed that a sinister campaign has been launched by various state governments to take advantage of the law against the poor people for taking away the land and giving it to builders where multiplexes, malls, posh residential complexes are developed which are beyond the reach of common men. The Bench questioned the change in land use by Uttar Pradesh government in Greater Noida and said, that was not the plan for which the land was acquired.

Khudo to judiciary to do the justice to the poor faarmers. The politicians has taaken evry thing granted for their benefits and looting the nation with folded hand. Really it is only the judiciary who is taking suo moto action in some of cases. The whole the nation is proud of our judiciary....May God grant more visionary power to politician to enable them to learn from judiciary to make India a nation of credibility.....Mera Desh Mahaan

It is one thing to acquire land for essential industries and quite another to put up five star hotels shopping malls and residential flats. State governments are very active in this activity in the name of development. Displacement of farmers and small land holders in order to allot land to big builders is nothing but organized form of corruption made under cover of law. Such thing should be exposed by the media shall be punishable under law. Hope SC will oversea such further steps required to safeguard the interest of the common man.

Our apex court are far exceeding in their limit unaware of the attitude of the politicians. If need be they will pass a bill to amend the constitution to do well without apex court in our nation if they scuttle their looting. It is easy to hit the farmers below their belt and sell it to the rich and get their commission and stash it to alien bank which has become the main profession of modernday politicians and few are exceptions. But the court has become undemocratic and arrogant to rule the nation where the meaning of rule is to indulge in such earning and live above law.
