As per Bombay Rent Act who is a tenant. Can a Lanlords wife and son and his other relatives be treated as a tenant in his own property to claim additional benefits granted  by the municipal authority like free FSI etc.

There is no specific bar in this Act so wife, children or any relative may also become tenants if all formalities have been adhared to.

In addition to any advice that you may get from Mr. Makkad, a tenant is a person by whom rent in payable. It can be kids spouse siblings etc. To prove tenancy you may have a lease contract alongwith rent reciepts.
