Before you begin, it's of course crucial to know what you want to test, and how you want to test it.

If you really enjoy doing chemistry experiments, it might be a good idea to build your own lab at home. It is essential that you do everything safely and obtain chemical supplies in an appropriate way. There are a lot of factors that go into choosing the correct space and deciding what instruments you will need.

However, research doesn't have to happen in a lab or clinic -- it can be done from the comfort of your home, office or even while you're on vacation.

Some of the licenses required to set up a pathology lab are mentioned below:

  1. Certification from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)
  2. Certification from Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
  3. Registration with Shops and Establishments Act
  4. Registration with the Clinical Establishment Act
  5. Registration with biomedical waste disposal body
  6. Approval for waste generation from state pollution board
  7. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department
  8. NOC from municipality

What is the subject matter of research? What is the infrastructure proposed to be built?
