My wife left our marriage since one year, and we were staying in a govt quarter. She has filed 498a and asking for divorce. Now, I was transferred to another place and now I had to vacate that house and all her streedhan and other assets are in that house. I am not using any of them, but I cannot take those with me. What legal steps I should take ? Please reply.

Forget about her assets. First get anticipatory bail for yourself and your family members. If she is interested in her assets then she should go and collect them. She cant expect you to deliver her assets after filing flase 498a case on you and your family members. Dont give her divorce. Let her come for settlement. Ask her settlement money if she needs divorce and to withdraw false cases in police station and courts.

The case under section 498A IPC is being filed in the court (after registration of FIR) or still the complaint is being processed by local police?
