Get married, you may learn in detail.

Well, this is law designed to be misused against husband through which husband along with his relatives, including incapacitaed grandmother of 95 years or a nephew of 2 months can be send to jail without enquiry. It is also useful in extorting money from husband and in laws or forcing the husband to give divorce my mutual consent. The only way to protect yourself is to refuse to become a husband and ensuring that you are not a relative of any married man.

ha ha ha ha......beautiful reply Rajesh ji.

well one thing i must add here.....if it is S. 498 IPC then the offence is different but if it is S. 498-A IPC then the offence is different.

S.498 deals with ENTICING OR TAKING AWAY OR DETAINING WITH CRIMINAL INTENT A MARRIED WOMEN (punishment 2 yrs or fine or both)

S. 498-A deals with  HUSBAND OR RELATIVE OF HUSBAND OF A WOMAN SUBJECTING HER TO CRUELTY (punishment 3 yrs and fine)

so which one was asked.

498A means you will get fleeced and tortured by India's great legal machinery. It is non-bailable, non-compoundable. Doesn't needs much evidence. It is a shabby law. It is like giving a bomb in the hands of a monkey(read foolish and angry wife). Drafted by some extremely short-sighted looneys,
