Vodafona Tax Case

Vodafone loses the Capital Gains Tax case against the Income Tax Department over accruing of capital gain on acquisition of Hutchison Essar South Limited. Bombay High Court today ruled in favour of Income Tax Department. Income Tax Department had slapped a 1.7 $ Billion Dollar Capital Gains Tax over Vodafone (accruing to Vodafone over purchase of Hutch) in India.
