Value of suggestion

What is the importance of suggestion to a witness about a fact in criminal cases.?

e.g. if witness is saying that only one dispatch register was maintained in our office but entries in register are showing doubt that there was another register also. But lawyer did not give such suggestion then what consequencies? Was it necessary to give suggestion?  Can judge himself not conclude without suggestion on the basis of entries of register that there may be another register?

No discussion.  i.e. nothing to say on this topic OR nothing important in this question?

We try to help people here. We don't answer exam questions. You should mention full case details and how you are involved to get responses. Otherwise it's just an academic query.

Give me answer that is real help.Question is given from real case. not hypothetical. Do not give advices/explanations for not giving answers instead give straight answer if you have one.

Ideally, such suggestions should have been given in cross examination.  But concerned advocate would be generally in quandary to give such suggestion because he gets negative answer.  If he gets positive answer, then immediately he should ask the witness to produce second register, without knowing what is lying in the second register and the contents therein would go against your interests.  All these things had not happened, now you have to argue that such suggestion is not required and the onus is shifted to other party and the other party has suppressed the vital document and failed to discharge its onus and you should be given benefit.
