Use of proxy and vpn servers in india

Hi,

I am software guy who works with some open source projects. I am kind of curious about the current Indian Cyber law or any other law with regard to VPNs and Proxy servers?

Are using  proxy server for web browsing or downloads like torrents legal in India? If I have to use a proxy server is there any regulation that i need to follow?

Thanks

Paddy

You may search the following link https://www.dot.gov.in/content/act-rules I am not aware of any such anti privacy, anti freedom, anti liberty, blood thirsty and draconian law enacted by our worthies in Parliament.

You may have to go through the cyber crime laws in this regard thoroughly before you may venture into such adventures.

Hello. I do not understand. The danger of colliding with law enforcement agencies can appear when using VPN, or if not? I have just been using vpn for amazon prime for several years now, and so far there have been no problems with the police. Maybe someone knows about https://macpaw.com/how-to/watch-amazon-prime-outside-us which I am using? It's safe? I just didn't think at all that there might be problems with the law.
