HI,

I would like to know whether PF is applicable for a new employee who joins with a Basic salary more than 15000/-

If he has been a member then he will remain a member.

Employer can contribute upto wage ceiling of Rs.15000/pm.

Employer can contribute by its sweet will, as well.

As per changed rules of PF since 2014 Any employee whose payscale is less than Rs.15,000/- also can get eligibility to PF .PF provisions of Employees are applicalble to him and the employers.

Please ensure that PF deduction and contribution are calculated as per the new wage ceiling of Rs 15,000 from Sep 2014 onwards.

In other words,

a. If the PF wage of an employee is more than Rs 15,000 per month:
The minimum mandatory PF contribution (and deduction) shall be Rs 1,800 per month (12% of Rs 15,000).

b. If the PF wage of an employee is less than Rs 15,000 per month:
The minimum mandatory PF contribution (and deduction) shall be 12% of the actual PF wage.
