time limit of an investigation

can an investigating officer take unlimited time under the guise of an investigation even after filing of chargesheet and supplementary chargesheet in total no. of 6

In your case chargsheet is filed so you have to proceed with the matter. Witness will be produced and you have conduct the hearing.

but can the investigating officer take unlimited time in the name of investigation or r there any time limit .

hello Agneev. good afternoon. police investigate the case at any time before giving judgement. please refer 173 class 6. under the requisition of the investigation officer, he may investigate the case at any time. after the investigation, he will file final report before the court.
