Summons by WhatsApp

I recently read about a court order where HC of Punjab and Haryana have ordered the summons to be served by WhatsApp. Has anyone used this practice yet ? Is it now legally allowed to serve court summons via WhatsApp ?

It is not valid service.

Though, sending summons only via Whatsapp (Online Media) would be wrong but to promote online services and technology in media and communication they can go through with both Offline as well as Online media to serve summon. Thankyou

It is not a valid service,

1) It is not possible person check every msgs from unknown numbers

2) If he/she cannot chek Whatsapp during the service period of summons, then we can't says that he refused the summons,

3) It means summons send by text msg and pic msgs, and through E-mails (electronic/online Media) )are also valid.

 

Such summon can not ba valid unless copy of the order is received.
