Sir,i am working in public sector bank as clerk. I just want to know can a branch manager stop the allowances paid to clerk. Allownace is authorised by branch manager but it is bipirtite settlements between union and management. Pls clarify

Sir,this is designation wise petrol allowance, newspaper and entertainment allowance paid every month. Every bank has this facility.

If this allowance is an authorised payment made by the bank to its emoployees, then the bank manager cannot stop the payment unilaterally, he can do so only by an order from the top level management.
If at all there is an observation by the top management against the erring employee, then the decision taken by the top management shall be binding on the manager to initiate such action. However the employee can agitate this and can approach court of law for resumption of the discontinued payment of the said allowances.
