Stoping alimony

A friend had taken a divorce 2 years back in Delhi court. She currently lives in Kolkata. She gets alimony from her husband monthly. Now she is getting married again . S her alimony will stop. What are the procedures to return the cheques . Does she need  to go to the court again? If so can a lawyer represent her in court. She has mobility problems. Can this procedures be done in Kolkata court if required?

Inform the ex husband of the change in circumstances and he will file a application before the court which ordered maintainence and if the ex wife gives a affidavit to this regard that she is married the court would pass a new order to stop maintainence.

Ex Husband would be more than happy to do so returning cheques would not help as he is bound to pay maintainence as per the orders.

There was a clause that alimony would stop if she remarries. Ex husband wants to come and collect all the cheques. He is also saying that father and new husband has to sign that there will be no more claim. Is this required?
