We had entered into a sale agreement for a vacant site with 1 lakh as advance amount. after further investigation , we found that owner has not paid his dues to the bank , so we issued a stop payment of the cheque issued to him and also informed him about this. we told him that we will proceed with the deal , if he clears his loan/dues etc to the bank. or else the agreement is void .Can he cause trouble to us with the cheque?.Thanks
